3 Golf Putting Tips You Have To Know About

By John Davenport

Putting is the most delicate part of Golf. While you can live with ending up a few feet off on your drive or approach, with putting you have to be dead on target or you've just added a stroke to your score. Many players pay more attention to their swings and invest less of their time on practicing putting. Don't make the same mistake. Read this article without skipping a word to see how to propel your putting game to a whole new level.

Golf Putting Tips

Golf Putting Tip #1: Don't Ignore the wind -- Many players take the wind into account only on long balls. This is a mistake you can't afford to make. Of course the wind has more effect on the ball when it's airborne than when it's on the green, but a strong breeze can still wreak havoc on a putt. Remember how light the ball is and how small is the hole. Even a few inches to the side due to wind can add a stroke to your score.

Golf Putting Tip #2: Keep your head still -- Many players tend to follow the motion of the ball with their eyes and head. This causes their head to move even as they're making the putt, shifts their shoulders and entire stance, and eliminates their control of the ball. Make sure to keep your head still until the ball is well on it's way.

Golf Putting Tip #3: Read the green from a number of angles -- Often I see players check the green from one position only: along the course the ball should take to the hole. This tells only part of the story. Reading the green from a number of angles will provide more information and allow you to putt the ball better.

Now, not everyone has a trigger, some manage to swing well from a static position to a dynamic position. But for the rest of us who often find confusion when it comes to where to start the golf swing, a trigger move can help you start swinging in a fluid and consistent manner.

We do play our serious golf during the serious-golf-season from spring to early fall, and during late fall and winter we should relax and play for the fun of it - particularly since we only get to play once every so often. Once the warm days of spring come back we get serious again

When you want to get some extra distance out of your drives, its natural to think that your right or dominant hand (for right-handed golfers) should supply the power. In reality, however, maximum power is a result of a left-hand lead.
